There’s something truly magical about a litter born on Easter morning. On the 3rd of April 2026, our beautiful Indie gave us the most wonderful Easter gift imaginable — seven healthy, gorgeous Goldendoodle puppies, each one a tiny miracle wrapped in a soft velvet coat.
A Love Story — Indie Meets Bandit
Every litter has a beginning, and Indie’s story started back in February when we welcomed a very special visitor to Kingscote. Bandit travelled all the way from Bury St Edmunds — a considerable journey — to meet our Indie. He proved himself to be the perfect gentleman, and it was clear from the moment they met that this was going to be a very special pairing.
Indie is one of our stunning Golden Doodles — a beautiful cream and apricot girl with the most wonderful temperament. She is health tested, loving, and everything we could ask for in a mother. Pairing her with Bandit gave us every confidence that this litter would be exceptional.
The Easter Arrival
As Easter Thursday dawned, Indie quietly got on with the most important job of her life. By the time the rest of the household was stirring, the Easter bunny had already been — and had left us seven beautiful puppies in the whelping box.
Seven puppies is a wonderful litter. Each one arrived healthy and strong, and Indie took to motherhood with the calm confidence we knew she had in her. Within hours, all seven were nursing well, snuggled together in a warm, wriggling pile — quite possibly the most heartwarming sight you’ll ever see.
The puppies arrived wearing their identity collars from the very start — our coloured ID bands that help us tell them apart and begin tracking each individual’s development from day one. This is very much part of our Puppy Culture approach, where every puppy is known as an individual right from birth.

The First Two Weeks — Watching Them Grow
The first two weeks of a puppy’s life are a time of rapid, almost unbelievable development. At two days old, Indie’s puppies were all chunky little sausages — eyes firmly shut, ears sealed, completely dependent on their mum for everything. Their world at this stage is warmth, milk, and the reassuring heartbeat of their siblings pressed close.
By eleven days old, the transformation was already remarkable. Their little bodies had filled out, their legs were becoming stronger, and the scrambling, wriggling energy of healthy, well-nourished puppies was plain to see. It’s one of our absolute favourite stages — that precious window before the eyes open and the world truly begins.
Throughout these early days, we follow the Puppy Culture Early Neurological Stimulation protocol — a series of gentle daily exercises that have been shown to build resilience, improve cardiovascular performance, and help puppies develop into more adaptable, confident adults. It’s a small investment of time that we believe makes a real difference to the dogs these puppies grow into.
Raised the Kingscote Way
At Kingscote Doodles, every litter is raised under our 5-star licensed breeding programme (Licence 008407) in our home in the beautiful coastal village of Maidencombe, near Torquay. Our puppies are never kennel dogs — they are born and raised in a family environment, surrounded by the sights, sounds, and rhythms of everyday life from their very first day.
Indie’s puppies benefit from being raised alongside our other dogs — Molly, Evie, Luna, Max, Nel, and Bonnie. Getting seven of them to sit still for a photo, as we’ve discovered, is a talent in itself. But that rich social environment, full of different personalities and energies, is exactly what shapes a well-rounded, socially confident puppy.
As the weeks progress, our Puppy Culture programme builds in complexity — from the early neurological stimulation, through sound desensitisation, weaning, socialisation sessions, and the introduction of novel objects and surfaces. By the time our puppies leave for their new homes, they have had a thorough, carefully managed start to life.
What Makes a Kingscote Goldendoodle?
Goldendoodles are one of the most popular family dog breeds in the UK, and for very good reason. Combining the gentle, loving nature of the Golden Retriever with the intelligence and low-shedding coat of the Poodle, they make outstanding family companions — particularly for households with allergy sufferers or anyone who’d prefer a dog that doesn’t leave a trail of fur across every sofa.
Indie’s puppies carry her wonderful temperament alongside Bandit’s genetics, and we have every reason to expect a litter of sociable, bright, affectionate dogs that will thrive in active family homes. Goldendoodles love people, love children, and have that wonderful Doodle quality of being endlessly enthusiastic about life.
All of our breeding dogs are fully health tested, and our puppies leave with their first vaccinations, microchipping, vet check, and a comprehensive puppy pack to support new families through those first important weeks. We also offer Zoom support sessions for new owners — because our relationship with our puppy families doesn’t end at the gate.
Interested in a Future Litter?
Indie’s Easter litter has found their families, but we have exciting litters planned for 2027. If you’re looking for a Goldendoodle or Labradoodle puppy in Devon, we’d love to hear from you.
