Choosing a puppy is easy….. Right?

December 19th, 2019

Actually choosing a puppy is really quite difficult and we understand the dilemma you’re facing. You’re choosing your new family member and you will almost certainly have an idea what you want your puppy and adult dog to look like, and how you would ideally like him or her to behave.

The truth is when you sit down to chose one puppy from a litter you will be surrounded by wonderful, excited, beautiful puppies. They will be saying “pick me” and of course you’ll want to take all of them home because you’ll see something attaractactive in each of them. It’s not unusual to hear future owners say “Oh this is so difficult, it would be far easier if you picked one for us”!

Litters are rarely split 50/50 male/female, and so the choice options could be quite limited depending on your gender preference, and in Tony and Alison’s case (pictured) they were looking for a male puppy. They then had to make that leap of faith and believe that their decision was the right one. We offered our opinion, and they narrowed it down to just two puppies and after lots and lots of head scratching, they chose Barney.

Tony and Alison did indeed deliberate long and hard but they have told us on numerous occasions that Barney is such a pleasure to have as part of their family. He brings daily joy to their home, even when he’s being mischievous, which is hardly ever! (We might have made the mischevious bit up!)
